![]() ![]() Unless the military can quarantine the population, the mysterious sickness will eventually infect millions and lead to a global pandemic. This follows a story more in the realm of “28 Days Later” than “Dawn of the Dead.” In the film, townspeople have become infected by something that is turning them all into aggressive, murderous pyschopaths. Set in the small, fictional town of Ogden Marsh, Iowa, “The Crazies” – if you want to get technical – isn’t part of the zombie culture Romero’s name is usually tied to. Romero (“Night of the Living Dead”), “The Crazies” is a stimulating blend of chilling moments, solid characters, and enough violence and gore to make aficionados of the genre screech in delight. Produced by the original film’s director George A. Secondly, although director Breck Eisner has some talented genes (his father is Michael Eisner, former CEO of Walt Disney), he didn’t make much of a statement when he dropped the cinematic bomb that was the action/adventure “Sahara” in 2005.įunny thing is, with nothing much going for it, “The Crazies” somehow works rather well. With as many mediocre horror movies that come out of Hollywood in any given year, there is bound to be some apprehension when a remake of 1973’s “The Crazies” rears it’s ugly, infected head at theaters.įirst of all, things don’t look too promising when screenwriters Scott Kosar and Ray Wright are attached to the project when they’ve already penned three unmemorable remakes between them in the last seven years (“The Amityville Horror” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” belong to Kosar Wright remade a Japanese horror movie into 2006’s yawn-inducing “Pulse”). Written by: Scott Kosar (“The Amityville Horror”) and Ray Wright (“Pulse”) It's what I call "The Floor Season.Starring: Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Anderson I didn't figure on my friend getting evicted and all of my DVD's stolen, so I ended up just running with that joke and remained on the floor for every single episode of Season 2. I wanted to somehow work the moving story into the show, so I made up the fact that my furniture was gone, even though the big comfy chair and the couch were very much still in the room. What isn't true however is that all my furniture was gone. I hadn't moved into my friends place because his electricity had been shut off and it was the fucking dead cold of winter. Pretty much everything I say at the beginning of the video is true. Well isn't that a hell of a title to begin Season 2 with! While the Snob may not have any furniture, that's no excuse not to make fun of this nazisploitation flick.ģ months went by between the "Satan's Children" video and this one, mainly because of all the moving stuff. #19 - Horrifying Experiments of the SS Last Days Season 2 - Episode 1 - Aired Look how much thinner I was in the beginning! I miss being in shape. I can say something positive about it, though. But, anyone who does a series of videos can probably tell you they don't really like their very first video. You can tell I hadn't really found the right tone or voice or act for the character yet, and what's with the cut off at the end? I think I tried a different editor at the time I made this video, and the result chopped off the end of it. I gotta say, It was painful watching this video. I don't really go back and watch my episodes after they've been posted, so this was probably the 1st time I've seen this video in over a year. Watching them trashing a movie because of a lack of merits it shouldn't even have in the first place was just really funny to me. I got the idea when I was watching Roger Ebert's review for "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter." It always stuck me as completely bizarre when a critic, any critic, who is by definition a cinema snob, would review an exploitation film. I basically started the show as a lark, something I didn't think would catch on, but would entertain me for a day. Now days, the prospect of a Snob video being only 4 1/2 minutes seems bizarre. It's hard to believe it's been over 2 years since I started this show, but after watching this review for "Burial Ground: Nights of Terror".yeah, I now fully believe it's been over 2 years. #3 - Burial Ground: Nights of Terror Season 1 - Episode 1 - Aired
